Protomelas sp. Spilonotus Tanzania, sometimes called the Insignus Cichlid, is a beautiful, mid-water schooling cichlid from Malawi. Males have royal blue bodies, a thick white blaze in the tip of the dorsal fin lapets, and yellow pelvic and anal fins that bleeds into the belly of the fish.
Treat them like other utaka, such as Copadichromis azureus, and give them plenty of space for swimming unobstructed. They prefer the upper water column and will appreciate other utaka to swim with.
