Pseudotropheus elongatus Chailosi (now classified as Metriaclima) is a Mbuna cichlid with black and yellow bars not to be confused with the more aggressive Pseudotropheus flavus.
Characteristics:
- Size: Males reach 10 cm, while females are around 8 cm.
- Recommended aquarium size: 250 liters
- Setup: Prefers a rocky environment with hiding places and open swimming areas.
- Behavior: Within the species, it is very aggressive, especially during breeding. A harem of 3-4 females per male is recommended. It can be housed in an aquarium with other robust algae-eating mbuna fish.
- Diet: Herbivorous, it feeds primarily on algae, diatoms, and microorganisms.
