The Tropheus species are a moderately deep bodied fish that seems to have a larger head in proportion to the body. The body narrows as it forms the tail and the caudal fin is fan shaped.

This Lake Tanganyika Cichlid is knows for it’s deep yellow band on a black body. The black of it’s body can have a bluish sheen on older fish if the light hits them
